PMA is proud to offer saxophone, clarinet and flute lessons - all to a very high standard.

Our team of woodwind tutors enjoy offering the ABRSM examination courses to most students as it offers learners a solid structure with short-term and long-term goals. All PMA woodwind tutors play the piano and can accompany students.

Alternative approaches include a more tailored structure, focussing more on styles and the requisite techniques.

The saxophone is a physically demanding instrument of choice. Therefore, we suggest a starting age of 10 or 11. The clarinet can be a great starting point as they are both single-reed instruments, have a similar mouthpiece, and the fingerings are similar to those of the upper register of the clarinet.
